Dr Johnny Hon, founder of Global Group, donates £200,000 to Oxford University, creating the Johnny Hon China Oxford Scholarship Fund

Dr Johnny Hon, founder of international venture capital and angel investment business Global Group, has donated a major scholarship to Oxford University for Chinese students studying law, politics and international relations.

The Johnny Hon China Scholarship, worth a total of £200,000 will be available from 2015 to 2025 and will bestow awards of up to £20,000 annually. This scholarship fund builds upon Johnny’s previous donations to Oxford University. Dr Hon previously sponsored six scholarships worth £60,000 to outstanding Oxford scholars.

Global Group Chairman Dr Johnny Hon says,

“I am extremely proud to support the China Oxford Scholarship Fund. The fund provides incredible opportunities for talented Chinese students and brings two great countries closer together. Much may change in the next ten years, but relations between Britain and China will continue to improve, and I am honoured to contribute to this blossoming relationship.”
